Since the inaugural launch of Sails at Bayside in November 2006 we have seen significant progress in building this loving outreach to the community. St Paul's church and St Peter's church have worked together to foster the growth of this outreach while setting a framework to move forward within the vision statement set out below. During 2007 Waterloo Bay Parish have supported us on the Management team and sailing days. Recently Cleveland Parish supported us on sailing days. Vision Statement Empowered young people through Sailing and Life Skills.
Mission Statement To provide Christ-centred mentoring support particularly for at risk, abused, disadvantaged Youth and Families.
Mission a. SAILS at Bayside as a Mission Shaped Church Community shares the love of Christ through ministering to the hurting, the disenfranchised and providing resources to build up the Body of Christ. b. Working collaboratively with Churches, Peak Bodies, Community Agencies, City Councils and Department of Communities. c. SAILS at Bayside Ministry will mentor youth in crisis, at risk from drugs, abuse, disadvantaged Youth, Families and those at risk from suicide and depression. d. SAILS at Bayside will also outreach to the wider community, parishes and youth groups. .
